Nu Phi Chi Sorority’s philanthropy is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, also known as LLS is the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancer and continuously raises money, invest in research, and supports those affected by blood cancer and their family and friends.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life in patients and their families.

One of the biggest events that occurs throughout the nation in over 200 communities across North America, is the Light the Night Walk: Taking Steps to Cure Cancer, which funds treatments that are saving the lives of patients today.

Approximately 1 million people walk to end cancer every year, some carrying different colored lanterns as representation. Survivors celebrate by carrying white lanterns as a symbol of hope in the darkness, red by supporters, and gold by those walking in memory of a loved one they lost.

Nu Phi Chi Sorority volunteers every fall with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and helps set up and do what ever is needed for the Light the Night Walk. The sorority values working together to help create a successful event for the community and recognizes the importance of finding a cure for blood cancer.
